Builds to learn

I'm a full-stack developer who enjoys solving challenges, learning new technologies, and turning ideas into working projects. I like exploring tools like Next.js, Expo, Unity, and Godot, and a lot of my learning happens through small projects from web and mobile apps to games.

Projects

6 projects

PKUnMe

A nutrition tracking app designed for individuals with PKU (phenylketonuria). The problem this project is trying to solve is to help patients manage and track their nutrition intake which is benefical for patients who have a hard time balncing their phenylalanine levels. How PKUnMe does this is by providing a user-friendly interface that allows users to log their meals, track their phenylalanine intake, vitamins, and other nutrients, and set personalized nutrition goals based on their specific needs. The app also provides visualizations and reports to help users understand their nutrition patterns which can help them make informed decisions about their diet and those reports can even be shared with their dietitian to help them track and manage diet if need be.

EsportMania.GG

A competitive gaming platform built as my capstone project. My team and I built a live-service platform where users could register, compete against one another, and climb leaderboards. The project gave me experience working across the full stack, from the frontend and APIs to the database and deployment

Historical Data Viewer

A proof-of-concept application built with Enertics to visualize historical IoT motor data. Their existing solution was outdated and difficult to use, so I helped build a more modern interface for exploring motor health data. The project required working with AngularJS, C#, and Grafana to bring the data and visualizations together.

Multiplayer FPS proof-of-concept

A multiplayer FPS prototype built after discovering the Godot game engine and its 3D capabilities. What started as an experiment with a new engine quickly turned into an exploration of networking and multiplayer systems. I built a basic FPS with online lobbies that allowed players to connect over the internet and play together.

CDL Hardpoint Analyzer

A tool for analyzing Call of Duty League Hardpoint matches. I built the project to experiment with computer vision and data analysis, using video footage to extract information and turn it into useful statistics and visualizations

Roundbased VR Zombie Shooter

A small VR zombie shooter built during a two-week sprint. The goal was to see how quickly I could take an idea from scratch to a playable prototype while learning Unity's XR tools along the way. It features round-based gameplay, VR interactions, and basic enemy AI.

About

I first got interested in software because I wanted to understand how games and websites were actually made. This led me down a more broad rabit hole, how the internet itself worked. I started by taking programming and computer hardware classes in high school, while spending my own time following Unity tutorials and experimenting with making small games.

This passion eventually led me to Software Engineering Technology at Conestoga. I built projects, experimented with different technologies, and realized there was still a lot more I wanted to understand. After graduating in 2023, I decided to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science to further expand my understanding of software, algorithms, systems, and explore new areas of software I would have never experimented with.

I've built a few small video game prototypes along the way and branched out into areas of software such as Web Devlopment, Data Science, Computer Vision, and AI. Each project gave me an opportunity to learn something new, make mistakes, and come away with a better understanding of how good software is built. What motivates me today is understanding how things work and using that knowledge to build more practical applications.
